Features

The 6700 classic was a midrange phone clad in a premium stainless steel finish similar to that used on Nokia's highly successful 8800 series. At the time it was considered to be targeting an "affordable luxury" segment and Nokia described it as a successor to the extremely popular 6300. It was available at a similar launch price to the 6300 of €235. At that price the 6700 classic was considered to be a significant competitive threat to rivals given its rich specification, which included a five-megapixel camera, GPS, quad-band GSM and EDGE, tri-band WCDMA with HSDPA and HSUPA support. It is important not to confuse the 6700 classic with the Nokia 6700 slide, which used the Symbian-based Series 60 operating system rather than the more basic Series 40 platform.
