The Open Hand of God is Yours to Touch

Psalm 145:16 “When you open your generous hand, it’s full of blessings, satisfying the longings of every living thing.” (The Passion Translation)

God is waiting for us to reach out to him. He has opened his hand out to us. His hand is there for us to touch. The third time after the resurrection that Jesus appeared to his disciples, by Lake Galilee, after a great catch of fish,  Jesus told his disciples, “come and dine.” (John 21:6 KJV). The disciples accepted Jesus’ invitation and dined with him. Jesus opened his hands and fed them bread and fish.  

Just like the invitation by Jesus, we have an open invitation from God to sit and dine with him. If we respond to the open invitation of God, we will dine with him and receive from Him. “For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.” (Hebrews 11:6 TPT).  

God’s extravagant greatness, goodness, and grace are ours to receive. His open hand is a representation of his love for us. When we decide to accept his open hand, we empower God to move on our behalf. It all starts by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again from the dead on the third day. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’” (Romans 10:9-11 NKJV). 

Those who believe in the name of his son Jesus are called sons of God. And if a son, then an heir of the promises of God. (John 1:12 & Galatians 4:7). Extend your hand toward God and receive his open hand of extravagant greatness, goodness, and grace. 

The greatness, goodness, and grace of God are ours to receive. God’s greatness, goodness, and grace are seen through His Son, Jesus. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God as with Him.” (Acts 10;38 NKJV). Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). When you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father God. (John 14:9) When you read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, you find that in every instance that a person who extended their hand to be touched by Jesus received the greatness, goodness, and grace of God. Jesus never turned down a person who came to him in faith. And those who put a demand on his greatness, goodness, and grace received the miracle touch of God. “The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” (Matthew 11:5 NKJV) 

In chapter one of the Gospel of Mark, there is a story about a leper who went to Jesus. The leper desperately pleaded for Jesus to heal him and told Jesus that if he was willing, he could. Jesus was moved with compassion, “stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’” (Mark 1:40-42) Immediately the leper was healed and cleansed.  Jesus is willing to touch you. God is willing touch you. His hand has been extended toward you. We must reach out and extend our hand to touch his hand.

Just like the leper, when we reach out and seek the open hand of God, he is more than willing to show us his extravagant greatness, goodness, and grace. We must not be ashamed to seek the open hand of God. It is there for us. God is faithful to fulfilling all his promises, and he manifests his kindness in all he does. (Psalm 145:13 TPT). He draws near to those who call out to him, and his “godly lovers receive even more that what they ask for.” (Psalm 145:18-19 TPT) 

Have you believed with your heart and confessed that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day? If not, do it now. Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God are rightful heirs to all the promises of God. God’s hand has been extended to you and is waiting for you to grasp and hold it to receive manifestations of his greatness, goodness, and grace. Will you reach out today with your hand and touch his open hand? He is waiting for you to reach out to him. And when you do it, you will receive manifestations of his greatness, goodness, and grace. Today is your day to see the goodness of God in your life. Today is your day to experience the miracle working power of God. Something good is going to happen to you today!
