“This is a thrilling market where you board a boat and navigate your way through a variety of vendors while bumping into passing ships. During rush hours, the market is filled with boats and you may even get stuck!. Buying souvenirs and food from the boats, or stopping at the eaves of the boats facing the river, is a very interesting, one-of-a-kind shopping experience.”

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is located in Ratchaburi Province, about 90 km west of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Klong Damnoen Saduak is the straightest and longest canal in Thailand. The canal was built by King Rama IV of Thailand under the leadership of the royal family to connect the Mae Klong River and the Chinese river channel to support transportation and trade. The canal is 32 kilometers long and has more than 200 branches.

Access from Bangkok is by car only and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes one way. Therefore, it is common to go sightseeing on a day trip. This floating market is one of the most popular floating markets in Thailand. Every day, many Thai and foreign tourists enjoy shopping and dining in the atmosphere of the Thai floating market, which has been around for over 100 years.
